Essential Nutrients -

a. Macronutrients – Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats and water
They are required in the large quantities. It is important that we eat good quality of these foods . means whole grain products are better than refined ones, have lean meat and choose natural fats.

b. Micronutrients – Vitamins , Minerals and anti oxidants
These are the protective and immunity building foods. They are required in a small amount but play important role in many chemical reactions at the cellular level. Eg. Fruits, vegetables, Nuts and seeds.

How a nutrition plan is decided?

The nutrition plan is advised after taking into consideration the overall lifestyle of the person, his or her food preferences and their traditional eating habits.
